Employment Qualifications

 

The HRD screens applicants and determines their competency levels for their desired positions based on the following set qualifications and requirements of the Elizabeth Seton School:   

 

a.     Basic Requirements

 

Basic requirements refer to essential necessities to which the applicant must be able to comply and/or conform for employment qualification in any position and/or designation:

 

 

·         Good Moral Background                            The applicant must not have maintained respectable moral standards in both professional and personal endeavors;

 

·         Physical Fitness                                           Applicants of the school must ensure their physical ability to perform duties, responsibilities and aptitude for the work at hand;

 

·         Pleasing Personality                                   In consideration of the school environment, applicants must be able to present a pleasant disposition in life, show innate nurturing attitude and concern for children; 

 

·         Satisfactory Communication Skills          Applicants of the school, for all positions must possess satisfactory communication skills in both written and oral form in English and Filipino. They must be able to facilitate conversation and instruction satisfactorily and with ease;

 

·         Religious Beliefs                                         The school does not discriminate based on preference or practiced faith– the school on the other hand requires applicants to recognize and respect its Catholic orientation and must be able to conform to its religious requirements and practices including but not limited to attendance in masses and routine prayers

 

b.     Minimum Faculty Requirements

 

The following shall be the minimum faculty requirements for academic teaching positions in Elizabeth Seton School:

 

Preschool Teacher

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree requirements with any of the following specializations:

 

o    Elementary Education with 54 hours of practicum in Preschool classes

o    Early Childhood Education / Family Life and Child Development

o    A degree allied to education (i.e. Psychology, Art, Nursing and the like)

 

·         Upon application, the teacher applicant must have at least six (6) units of Preschool education and must complete the eighteen (18) unit requirement before regularization.

 

·         The teacher applicant must not be more than 45 years old

Grade School Teacher

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree requirements with any of the following specializations:

 

o    Elementary Education

o    Secondary Education w/ specialization related to the department of assignment

o    Bachelor of Arts or Science related to the department of assignment  with at least (9) units of education completed or to complete before the end of the probationary period or a professional teaching license

 

High School Teacher

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree requirements with any of the following specializations:

 

o    Secondary Education w/ specialization related to the department of assignment

o    Bachelor of Arts or Science related to the department of assignment  with at least (9) units of education completed or to complete before the end of the probationary period or a professional teaching license

 

 

c.     Minimum Faculty B Requirements

 

The Faculty B status is a group of employees performing both teaching and clerical responsibilities in line with their areas of expertise. In connection with these specifications, the following requirements are upheld in the selection and placement of such individuals:   

 

 

 

 

                Registrar

 

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree in Education or a degree in relation to wit

·         Teaching License 

 

Guidance Counselor

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree requirements with any of the following specializations:

 

o    Psychology

o    Guidance and Counseling

o    Behavioral Science

o    Child Study 

 

·         Advanced studies units in Guidance and Counseling from a reputable institution

 

·         Guidance Counseling License

 

 

Librarian

·         Must have completed Bachelors degree requirements with any of the following specializations:

 

o    Library Science

o    Information Services

 

·         Library Science License

 

 

 

 

 

d.     Minimum Requirements for Non-Teaching Personnel

 

The school sets varied standards for different designations in relation to office and non-office employees depending on the specialized need of the unit and the level of entry. Below are the minimum qualifications for office and non-office employees:

 

Staff

·         Must have completed at least two (2) years of Tertiary or Vocational Education

 

·         Computer Literate (able to make use of basic Microsoft programs such as MS Word and Excel)

 

 

Driver

·         Must be at least a High School graduate

 

·         With professional driving experience – including bus driving of at least 5 years

 

·         With a Professional Drivers License 

 

Specialized designations such as: physician, nurse, dentist, accountant, school lawyer and the like require hired personnel to have professional licenses prior to employment with Elizabeth Seton School to ensure reliable and credible service for the school community.
